The ones I keep returning to are late 90s/early 2000s AOR/metalcore, “Load”-era Metallica, and Evanescence with an Alice in Chains/Soundgarden influence (the latter primarily in the usage of the minor notes in the riffs). Life is messy, joy and pain. Without experiencing and knowing darkness, we cannot know and recognize true joy.All these feelings make up the beauty of the human experience. That’s what this album represents to me.”
